Sweet Finds in Park Slope

We recently moved from Bay Ridge to South Slope some months ago. It was a very long winter for many reasons. But now, summer is in full swing and my health is almost back to “normal” :).  Am really enjoying this new neighborhood of ours and love the notion of being so close to Prospect Park, designed by the same architect who did Central Park.

Julian turned three in June and though I so wanted to make his birthday cake, like I did last year, I couldn’t resist a lil’ bit of sweet help from Buttermilk BakeshopOne of Julian’s favorite books is “My Subway Ride” and so I just had to use this as a theme for the cake.  The pastry chefs at Buttermilk did such a great job…all that yumminess inside one cake was truly sinful: chocolate and vanilla layer cake, just how Julian enjoys his milk shakes by the way and chocolate ganache filling with vanilla buttercream.
